The ghostly encounters at German Girl Temple PART 2

Today is X'mas Eve and after more than a year... I am back to try to end this ghost story.

Deeply inspired to write for a number of reasons.

- After a few years of looking for funds, finally a book about Singapore cemeteries (which include the german girl temple) will be published!
- A producer has been chasing me for four years to convert the story about the German Girl Temple into a feature film.
- Then recently at a political forum, met up with some people who were intrigue about the ghostly encounters.
- And finally got to know a playwright who might be interested to write into a movie screenplay.

Perhaps I am at the will of the spirit to make this movie!

Without much further ado... the ghost story:

Xavier my assistant producer got a call from one of my production assistant, Alvin. Alvin and two other crews were tasked to sleep at a tentage that were pitched outside the German Girl Temple. The reason for them to sleep over there was to look after those bulky equipments like generator and film lights etc (We shot till the wee hours like 2am and it was too tiring to move equipments back to Vincent's house).

Alvin told Xavier that he do not want to stay in the tentage and they got into an argument. I asked Xavier what happened and shit happens again, Alvin told him that when he woke up, he saw a black shadow - the height of a child standing beside him.

I was really freak out: first my sound recordist got possessed, then my wardrobe assistant vomited six times because she cursed the german girl, and then Alvin saw a black child-like shadow..... I was terrified and I was trying to figure out what should I do. But my mind got numb because it is made worse by the fact that my production manager was chanting upstairs "nam mo a mi, nam mo a mi" to ward off the evil spirits.

I recalled that night, it was already 3am. I could not sleep and I was somehow resolved that I have to finish the shoot at the German Girl Temple before dusk or else more haunting encounters will happen. The last thing I would like to see is that my crews got freaked out and walked out of my shoot.

6am... call time for crews to gather. I remember that I was in a foul and impatient mood to try to push all the crews to seize the daylight and finish filming before sun set. But during the shoot... another creepy incident happens, one of the villager who acted as a calefare (extra) on the first night came to the temple to make some offerings. Then he asked to speak to me and what he said sent a chill down my spine. He told me that after the filming, for the 2 nights he has nightmares of the German Girl Ghost appearing in his dreams and accused him as a 帮兄( accomplice. He returned me his acting fees and begged me to delete the scenes that he was in or else he will 早死 (die young). I couldn't handle the news (because that will mean I have to do a major reshoot) and asked my assistant producer to talk to him while I rushed to finish my shoot.

And thanks goodness... I managed to wrap up the temple scenes before sun set and the rest of the three days were a bliss. We were filming in other locations and nothing spooky happens. And to cut the story short. I completed the telemovie!

But during the launch of the telemovie, I met up with my actor and I told him about the ghost incidents which he was unaware about. And to my surprise he himself got the brunt of it after the shoot. He told me that immediately after the shoot, he was not in good spirits and one of his friend who has six sense told him that a 小鬼 (small ghost) has followed him. Thankfully his friend managed to exorcist the spirit away.

Thankfully most of my crews and cast never kena anything... perhaps like myself, some of them prayed before the shoot for blessing and protection. Or perhaps from what I knew about Taoism, it depends on your yin and yang energy... the more yin a person has, the most likely hood that the person can attract
好兄第 (brothers from the nether world).

This is the end of the ghost stories that happens in my production shoot. But do stay tune (whoever chance upon this blog). Will like to share with you the story about this "evil" caretaker of the German Girl Temple.
