Do you know that Toh Lai Leong used to have a "proper" 9 to 5 job before he made his living peddling stuff on Sungei Rd? I met some of his colleagues and they still remember him. About three years since I cancelled my ST subscription. Having read the ST for decades, there was some withdrawal symptoms for the first two weeks.
